Five Guys Burger And Fries Review . . . . .

The burgers from Five Guys allow you to basically custom order your burger which is pretty cool. One thing they should definitely think about adding to their toppings list would be a fried egg.

Here's a little bit of advice when ordering your burger at Five Guys that I was taught by Drama today. A "Little Burger" consists of only 1 burger patty. Their regular burgers are 2 burger patty's.

The hot dog was actually my favorite item to eat. They split open the hot dog and grill it on both sides. Very nice touch. And when you can add as many toppings as you want, it's basically like eating a hot dog sandwich.

The cajun fries did not let me down either. They were very flavorful. I highly suggest ordering those as well. The large order was more than enough for the 4 of us.

I'd give this place a try. The burgers are not oily or greasy in any way (which is both a good and bad thing depending on how you like your burgers). Give the hot dogs a try. You might find it a pleasant dining surprise as you can add a whole bunch of stuff to it. And make sure to add a side of cajun fries.

You Can Kill A Lot Of Time Here . . . . .

CEB and I finish hitting a $10 range card each (which is about a 100 or so golf balls each). Man, you can really kill some time here. I wonder how CEB finds going to the range so relaxing.

Definitely A Work In Progess . . . . .

This sport is pretty damn hard to learn. It doesn't help that CEB makes it look so easy (the bastard). At least I know that CEB wasn't exactly born with any skills and struggled to learn how to play also.

CEB actually has some golf skills. He wasn't bs'ing when he said he knew how to play. Now let's see if he can help me out.

A Possible Road Trip For A Food Review . . . . .

Drama has brought up the idea of us heading to Vegas in the near future for a weekend to go try some of the restaurants we saw on Man V Food. Not a bad idea! I really want to try that breakfast place that was featured on the show.

I Wonder How That Would Taste . . . . .

Just a thought. What if you could add a hot dog to your burger here at Five Guys? I think that might make a very interesting eating experience, especially with all of the toppings they offer.

Time To Roll Out . . . . .

Time to head out to go meet up with Orion and Drama at the Lab.

Today will be the first time I will be eating a hamburger from any restaurant since I last ate the McRib sandwich from McDonald's the other week. Hopefully the food from Five Guys is as good as advertised! I am looking forward to trying the cajun fries. I haven't had really good seasoned fries in a long time.

Damn it's cold outside. Summer cannot come back fast enough!

Viking's Team Speed Is Crazy Fast . . . . .

"MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson could lose his driver's license after police clocked him driving at 109 mph -- nearly twice the posted speed limit -- on a suburban Minneapolis highway last weekend."

Berrian joins Peterson over 100 mph

"The Minnesota Vikings' offense doesn't just burn defenders -- it burns rubber.

Two days after star running back Adrian Peterson was cited for driving 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, his teammate, wide receiver Bernard Berrian, was ticketed for topping the century mark on an area interstate, according to media reports in the Twin Cities."

Now That's Really Living The Dream . . . . .

Airlines Offering Lavish Perks, Secretive Rewards Programs

"For all the flak that the airline industry has caught lately for things like overcharging for snacks and pilots overshooting their destinations, there are some airlines coming up with new, enticing ways to reward customers whose business they value. For instance, as USA Today points out, some of the major airlines are rewarding a select group of frequent fliers with lavish benefits similar to those offered by holders of American Express' vaunted Black Card.

Though typically reserved for customers who spend thousands of dollars annually on airfare, some airlines are currently offering personal concierge service, exclusive express check-in lines at airports, access to high-end lounges even when the customer flies coach, and personal escorts to ease airport navigation between connections, in addition to continuing to offer the classic frequent flyer perks like upgrades to first or business class.

Of particular note are American Airlines' two-year-old Concierge Key program and United Airlines' six-year-old Global Services program, both of which are somewhat secretive and available only through invitations, with Global Services reported to be slightly more relaxed in its membership standards. Both are widely renowned as being the standard-bearers for high-end perks in the airline industry. While American maintains an air of mystery when it comes to the specific perks offered through Concierge Key membership, websites and message boards populated by travel junkies are filled with glowing anecdotes of treatment typically reserved for people of prominent social stature."

Puma Golf makes U.S. market move

"Puma Golf's signing of Rickie Fowler has sparked much attention, but the company's investment in the sport goes far beyond recruiting another spokesman. The footwear and apparel maker just announced the creation of Puma Golf North America, a business unit dedicated exclusively to golf that will serve as the company's official distributor and licensee in the U.S. and Canada. The move reflects Puma's steadily growing commitment to the golf market, which it entered in 2006. Puma Golf North America's mission is to expand distribution of the company's golf footwear, apparel and accessories to on- and off-course golf specialty stores, and sporting goods and online accounts. Its operations take effect immediately."

Damn Now That's A Strict Hiring Policy . . . . .

Why Notre Dame may pass on Kelly

"Notre Dame fans want the best coach possible, yet they keep scratching all the top candidates off their list. Mike Leach is a Mormon. Jim Harbaugh is divorced. Jon Gruden had a DUI. Randy Edsall hasn't won enough, Pat Fitzgerald isn't old enough and Skip Holtz doesn't recruit well enough. Then there's the latest controversy that's lighting up the message boards of what might be the most plugged-in fan base in the nation: Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly is said to be pro-choice. Where precisely Kelly stands on what should be a private issue is uncertain, and frankly nobody's business, but if true it could be a deal-breaker for many on the Catholic university's campus."

Bonus Adventure . . . . .

In addition to grubbin' at Five Guys today, CEB and I will be going to the driving range after. I am looking forward to answering the following questions.

#1 - Is he the competent golfer that he claims to be?

He says he's got some junk clubs that I can beat up on at the range and he doesn't care if I damage them. This makes me wonder how much $$$ he has invested into this hobby.

#2 - Can he have more success in teaching me the some of the very basic and proper golf swing fundamentals than Hank Haney did with attempting to fix Charles Barkley's world renowned horrific swing?

This is not my first time going to the driving range, I have gone before. But having a complete stranger trying to give me some pointers hasn't exactly made me want to completely join in the golfer's fraternity.

CEB "claims" to have never eaten at this place yet. I highly doubt that. There really isn't a trendy burger joint in socal that he hasn't eaten at yet. Drama and I have eaten here quite a few times already and find it to be a nice change from In N Out.

But then again, if he did already eat here, he really wouldn't be looking forward to eating somewhere he's already been. And he did ask quite a few questions about the portion sizes of the food (which by the way, plays a big role in our dining destinations for food reviews as CEB can eat as much as or more than me and Drama combined). So maybe he wasn't lying when he said he hadn't eaten here yet.

Today's Dining Adventure Teaser (12/5/09) . . . . .

Today is another cold day in southern California. Even though we are in the middle of the holiday season, the huge downside of it is the cold weather (well, cold for California at least, today's weather forecast calls for a high of 65 degrees with times of clouds and sun - according to accuweather.com).

Orion and Drama have collaborated on today's dining adventure. They will be taking me to dine at somewhere that I have never ever eaten at before. What is that place? Well stay tuned.
